Cisco MDS switch configuration mode allow to make change to the existing configuration. When the Configuration is saved. These commands are preserved across switch reboots. Once the configuration mode is accessed, you can start to enter interface configuration mode, zone configuration node and a variety of protocol specific modes.

In Cisco MDS switch Configuration mode, this is the starting point for all configuration commands, the switch expect configuration command from the administrator.
